Dashboard
The dashboard provides you an overview of your network.
The available widgets are listed below.
Favorites and list filterZones, Blocks and Servers widgets have a filter select menu located at the top of of the widget. With it, you can choose to view only favorite items, a subcategory of items or all items unfiltered. You can add an item into your favorites list or remove an existing item from favorites list by clicking on the item's name (IP address is the item's name for Blocks). This will open up a popup window with a button to add/remove favorite status for the item. You can use the favorite functionality to customize your dashboard to show only the items you access most often or those you want to focus on. The widgets are described below. SearchSearch in most of NameSurfer DDI data at once. The search string will match within DNS zone and node name, within DNS RR data, beginning of IPAM Block and Host addresses and within Information field values of IPAM Blocks and Hosts. Click on a result in order to go to the page corresponding to the result item. Please note: the results are truncated to 5 items per target type. If you get a larger number of matches, try narrowing down the search by using a more specific (i.e. longer) search string. Logged in usersA list of currently logged in users. For each user the following information is displayed :
ZonesList of your DNS zones, with zone serial and number of nodes contained for each. Click on a zone name in order to go to add/remove favorite or go to the zone's overview page. Use the paging buttons under the list to move between different pages, or click on the page number field, type number of page to go to and press Enter. You can also adjust the number of zones on each page by clicking the dropdown, default is 10 zones. You can sort the list by the zone name or the number of contained nodes by clicking the corresponding table column heading. Clicking again reverses the sort direction. BlocksDisplays a tree view of your IP address blocks in NameSurfer IPAM. You can expand any block node in the tree hierarchy by clicking on the triangle on the left side of a block. Contained subnets will be shown. Clicking again will collapse the node. The icon on the left of the block IP address indicates the type of block: divisible or address. For each address block a bar graph of block allocation level is displayed next to the right edge of the widget. Hovering the mouse over the bar graph displays the exact number of available addresses and the number of hosts contained. If an Information field to be shown for blocks in tree view is selected in IPAM Display Preferences, the value of that field is shown for each displayed block as the second column from the right. If the value is too long to fit in the display, you can see the full value by either hovering the mouse on top of the value, or in Block Details as described below. By clicking on a block's IP address the Block Details popup will be opened. In Block details you can see the block's IPAM Information field values, add/remove favorite status for the block, go to the block's IPAM page or see the change log for the past 24 hours. ServersLists the configured Remote Servers. For each server the service status is displayed and updated periodically. The status "Running" means the server is up and the service process (DNS or DHCP) is running. "Stopped" indicates that the server is up but the service is stopped. Other statuses indicate a problem contacting the server, either due to misconfiguration, network connectivity issues or the server being down. Click on a server name in order to add/remove favorite status for it or to go to the server's overview page. Click on a graph in order to go to the server's statistics page. Note that the statistics graph is displayed only for server types supported by statistics. Manage Dynamic HostsWith Manage Dynamic Hosts widget you can add dynamic hosts to remote FusionLayer DHCP Servers and search dynamic hosts from the FusionLayer DHCP Servers. The task can be selected from the drop down menu. Add HostAfter entering the required values and pressing 'Continue' the widget will search running remote FusionLayer DHCP servers (primaries only) and present a table of the found servers. If no valid servers can be found or the submitted MAC address already exists on the servers an error message will be printed. If no errors are found the 'Confirm' button can be pressed and the host will be added to the servers. Search HostsThe Search Hosts widget can be used to check if a MAC address already exists on remote FusionLayer DHCP servers. Only running primary FusionLayer DHCP servers will be included in the search. |
