The Groups page displays the currently defined FusionLayer NameSurfer user groups, which are intended for both the end users and superusers (or administrator).
Each group can be assigned a separate set of privileges and restrictions - or rights, for short. A user receives these group rights when the administrator assigns the user's account for it. An user account can belong to a one or several groups.
The user account cannot be logged in if it does not belong to any group, or if it's all groups are disabled (see Status below).
On the Groups page the following information is listed:
FusionLayer NameSurfer supports simultaneous access by multiple groups. Please note! If an user account belongs to a two or more groups of which some grant the rights for example to access a certain IP address range and some do not, the user account receives the aforementioned rights. This is because FusionLayer NameSurfer groups allow access to different types of information and their related tools and functions.
In order to add a new group, select Create new group in the navigation. This will bring up an empty user page to fill in the necessary information.
Groups page also contains tools which allow you to flexibly make mass changes to the groups in FusionLayer NameSurfer. With each tool you may search and update one or several groups by entering a search criteria, which may consist of a group pattern and/or a group parameter type and it's value pattern.
You may add several parameter type/value pairs to the search in order to get a more precise results by clicking Add new button in the Search criteria fieldset.
The tools are designated for the following functions:
More help on using these functions can be found at the user accounts/groups update tools.
