Information fields are shown to the user when the user is viewing the contents of a block or an owner. Modifying the information's value (ie. it's attribute) is possible by clicking the link containing the current value (or Insert value if no value for the information field is currently set) if the information field is mutable. The information value can also be selectable from a predefined set of possible values. If the currently viewed node (ie. block or owner) is a root block, it shows information about its origins. This may be a registrar, or, for example, an ISP. When an information field value is inserted into a node (ie. block or owner), it's values are inherited hierarchically if that particular information field does not have values defined in the sub-nodes. The inherited information fields are listed with values/links having a color emphasis and an icon (see below). These values can be edited and replaced normally, after which they lose their inheritance status. If the edited/replaced value is removed, the inheritance is restored.
