This page is used to manage configuration templates stored for creating managed BIND/DHCPD servers as Remote Secondaries on NameSurfer. Existing templates for the chosen server type are shown as a list on this page and they can be opened for editing by clicking on the name of the template. New templates may be added via the "Create template" link in the menu frame.

What are configuration templates?

The configuration templates exist to allow repeated use of same configuration data as a base for new remote servers, without having to keep a separate external file always at hand outside NameSurfer. The difference between remote configuration templates and actual stored remote configurations is that the templates are simply textual data that has been uploaded or entered into the system through the template editor page. A template is simply text - it hasn't been parsed on any way, and its correctness has not been checked - when a template is used to create a new remote server, it is then parsed just like an uploaded file would be at that operation.
