In the IP Address Management
module's Address report tool,
the address report can be created of either allocated or unallocated
addresses. When viewing allocated addresses, a list of all allocated
addresses within the selected block is shown. When viewing unallocated
addresses, a list of addresses that are not allocated is created on the
basis of the list of allocated addresses and shown.
Since the number of unallocated addresses in a large block can be
overwhelming, there's an internal limitation that makes contiguous lists
of more than a certain number of unallocated addresses shown only as an
IP address range, thus preventing the reporting and user interface from
consuming all memory on the system. There is no similar limitation for
viewing allocated addresses, however.
