Your installation of NameSurfer may have been set up to display a selector box with predefined HINFO alternatives. In the selector, the CPU type and OS are shown as two text strings separated by a slash. In this case, you can simply select one of the predefined alternatives, or if none of the alternatives is acceptable, select [Define new] and press the OK submit button. You will then be prompted for the CPU and operating system type.

If there are no predefined HINFO alternatives, HINFO records are entered using a pair of entry fields, one for the CPU type and one for the operating system.
